Health & Safety Guidelines

PLAN YOUR VISIT GUIDE

At the Watsco Center, the health and safety of our guests, staff, players and performers is our top priority. We are continuing to monitor COVID-19 updates from the Center of Disease Control (CDC), the Florida Department of Health, and the World Health Organization (WHO) and collaborating with Miami-Dade County, the City of Coral Gables, and UHealth to safely welcome guests back to the Watsco Center.

 Arena Enhancements
– Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the Watsco Center. We encourage all guests to wash their hands and use our hand sanitizers often.
-The Watsco Center features touchless faucets, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and hand sanitizer dispensers.
-Upgrades have been made to the HVAC system including increased natural ventilation, increase of outdoor air and upgraded air filters.

Arriving at the Watsco Center
-Doors will open one (1) hour before the event begin.
-The Watsco Center has a clear bag policy to increase existing security measures and expedite entry. All clear bags must be 12” x 6” x 12” or smaller. Small clutch purses are permitted. These bags may not exceed 5.5” x 8.5” and can be carried separately or inside an appropriate clear bag.
-To reduce contact with event staff, guests may keep items such as phones, keys, and wallets in their pockets as they enter through the security mags.
-Outside food is prohibited in the Watsco Center.
-Elevators will be restricted to a limit of 4 individuals. We encourage guests to use our stairwells, if possible.

Facial Coverings are now encouraged but no longer required while indoors.

Increased Safety Procedures
-All guests are asked to do their part by frequent hand washing, use of hand sanitizing stations, wearing face coverings, and keeping a safe distance between their party and other guests while attending events at the Watsco Center.
-Guests who are not feeling well or have been in close contact with someone suspect to be infected with COVID-19 are asked to stay home and contact your doctor.
-Close contact is defined by the CDC as someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or for asymptomatic clients, 2 days prior to positive specimen collection) until the time patient is isolated.
-Event Staff will be required to wear masks. Staff who will be interacting with guests will also be required to wear face shields. All staff members will be required to pass a daily health and temperature check before arriving at work.

Enhanced Cleaning Measures
The Watsco Center has established and will maintain a cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention program to control and minimize risk associated with infectious agents such as SARS-CoV-2 (responsible for COVID-19 disease) for staff members, customers, the community and environment. Before and after each game all seats will be cleaned and disinfected with EPA-registered disinfectants. High touch points throughout the arena will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the game including door handles, railings, elevator buttons, trash receptacles, toilets, sinks and restrooms stall doors and dividers. Cleaning attendants will be assigned at restrooms to monitor sanitization and cleanliness.

Ticketing
The Watsco Center Box Office will open one (1) hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Tickets will be distributed by the schools. Please be prepared to have your tickets ready upon arrival of the venue. Tickets cannot be transferred from student to student or guest to guest. Children 2 and under do not require their own ticket. Please contact your school for any ticket issues or concerns.
